What is Glofox (a software overview)

Glofox is a gym and fitness studio management system that helps fitness professionals grow client bases, manage memberships, organize group fitness classes, and run their studios more efficiently. The software includes a members app (iOS and Android) and an integration with Trainerize for hosting live or on-demand workouts.

As you would expect from a gym and studio management system, Glofox’s features center around selling and managing memberships and organizing group fitness classes. 

Glofox features include 

• Marketing tools: forms, Facebook and Instagram integration 
• Sales tools: lead management, interaction timeline 
• Management tools: scheduling and membership management, global payment processing, reporting
• Member experience tools: member app, branded booking portal, check-in kiosk, member store
• Retention tools: automated emails, membership and activity reports, push notifications

There is also ‘Glofox Amplify,’ an automated communications tool that aims to “grow your business by converting more leads and retaining more members.” It appears this is an optional extra on Glofox plans, and customers are encouraged to speak to sales to find out more.

It’s worth noting that the software does not appear to have integrated time-tracking or the ability to process payroll. In fact, there is little in the way of workforce management features. In addition, the software focuses on static fitness studios (operating from fixed addresses) and does not accommodate in-home and mobile services.

Glofox reviews are generally favorable across the major review sites. Glofox users highlight the software’s many features that have helped them simplify operations in their fitness centers and gyms — particularly the attendance tracking and ability to manage memberships. 

However, several Glofox reviews mention a learning curve to the software, and many appear to be dissatisfied with Glofox's customer service, which seems to be largely automated. A few reviews also mention having difficulty with payments not going through.
